The adventure begins here! The library has FREE passes to 19 area museums and attractions around Long Island and New York City that your family can visit. Please read the following rules and choose “I ACCEPT” at the bottom, then make a reservation from the provided list of available passes and dates.
For your convenience: Museum Adventure Passes for select destinations are now Print-from-Home. When you are viewing the pass list, you will see Print-from-Home next to these destinations. See below for more details.
Adult Sachem Library cardholders, 18 and over. Keep in mind each museum reserves the right to determine the rules and regulations governing usage.
On the pass list page next to each destination, it will state either “Pick Up/Return at Library” or “Print from Home.” Next to the American Museum of Natural History it will state “Coupon,” because they are on a one time use voucher system.
You are responsible for planning your trip. Be sure to check the destination’s hours before you reserve a Museum Adventure Pass. When requesting a pass, you can click on the museum’s name which will then display admission details and a link to the museum’s website.
You can make one reservation in a 30-day period. Reservations can be made 60 days in advance.
No, not all events/exhibits are covered by a Museum Adventure Pass and additional fees are the patron’s responsibility. Please contact the museum directly for more information.
Each participating museum sets its own limits which are listed on the reservation page under “pass details.”
No, Museum Adventure Passes cannot be renewed.

Print-from-Home passes must be reserved for the day you plan to use them and an email address is required for the reservation. These passes can be reserved online, by phone, or in-person at the Welcome Desk, up to 60 days in advance. Passes can be printed from home at any time or at the library (during normal business hours).
Print-from-Home museum passes are only valid for the reservation date listed on the printed pass. They do not need to be returned to the library.
You must bring your printed museum pass. After reserving a Print-from-Home pass you MUST print the confirmation page and bring it with you to the museum. This will serve as your pass. Electronic versions—on smartphones or tablets—will not be accepted by museums. The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum requires you to bring your library card in conjunction with the printed pass.
No. Print-from-Home passes are only valid for the date listed on the printed pass. They may only be used once.
Reservations made for a Print-from-Home pass CANNOT be canceled. Please be sure of your reservation before confirming.
Museum Adventure Passes can be reserved online, by phone, or in person at the Welcome Desk. All reservations should be made for the actual date of your intended visit and can be made up to 60 days in advance. If a pass has already been reserved, you will see “RESERVED” or “BOOKED”.
The pass may be picked up on the day before your visit to the museum and will be checked out on the Sachem Library card used to make the reservation. The pass is due back to the library the day after your scheduled visit, with the following exceptions: Passes are not due on Sundays, New Year’s Eve, the day before Thanksgiving, or any day the library is closed. The due date will be indicated on the slip given to you at checkout. (The American Museum of Natural History is on a voucher system, and these one-time use vouchers do not need to be returned.)
A $20 per day fee will be charged to your library card if the pass is returned late.
A replacement fee equal to the full value of the missing pass will be charged to your card.
Yes, you may, as long as the pass is returned by the due date. This only applies to the Pick Up/Return at Library passes.

The pass must be returned in person at the Welcome Desk in its original folder. Under no circumstances should the pass be left in any of the book returns or on a counter.
