Resources for Children with Special Needs

Sachem Library
Today 1 in 88 children (1 in 54 boys) under 8 years old is affected by an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). With the increasing number of budget cuts happening in government and schools more and more families are turning to their local libraries for resources and programming.

Sachem Public Library prides itself on being a community center where everyone is welcome. The Children's Department offers many programs and resources for all children ages birth-5th grade. We realize attending programs with a child with ASD may be challenging, here are some programs and services we have that are ASD-friendly.
